Carwash has zoning variance revoked

June 21, 2013
DEARBORN, MI — The city’s Zoning Board of Appeals has revoked a zoning variance of the Speed Wash carwash following complaints by residents around the carwash.

The Board shut down the carwash’s two automatic “Cyclone” bays but allowed the carwash to keep their seven self-serve bays.

Carwash owner Edward Harake said he had installed timers to shut the automatic bays down between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.

“We need to find a happy medium here,” Harake said in the Press and Guide story.
