Convenience store employee charged with theft

DANVILLE, PA — A convenience store employee has been charged with stealing more than $80,000 from her employer.

Tracy Truesell is accused of pocketing cash instead of depositing it into the ATM at the convenience store where she worked.

Following an external audit Truesell admitted to police she had been taking the cash and falsifying the records. She estimated she had stolen more than $70,000.

Truesell has been charged with six felonies, according to the cpapracticeadvisor.com story, including three counts of theft, two counts of forgery and one count of receiving stolen property. She was also charged with two misdemeanor counts of tampering with records and misapplication of property of a financial institution.
