City Council weighs convenience store proposal

August 1, 2013
SPRINGFIELD, MA — The Springfield City Council is contemplating a special use permit for a proposed convenience store on the ground floor of an apartment building.

The space has previously been occupied by a hair salon and a church.

A property owner has raised concerns a convenience store would draw loitering and crime. The individual also said there is inadequate parking.
