Upstate New York Mobil convenience store expanding

September 9, 2013
WATERTOWN, NY — A Mobil gas station and Express Mart will soon be demolished and replaced with a convenience store nearly six times larger as well as a carwash.

Carwash owners received approval in 2008 but never went forward with their plans. They will replace the 950-square-foot store with a 5,000-square-foot center.

Aside from the carwash the Express Mart will have a drive-thru window and a coffee station.

According to the Watertown Daily Times the coffee station is an attempt to rival the nearby Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts.

“It’ll be coffee heaven out there,” said Kenneth A. Mix, the city’s planning and community development coordinator in the story.

The store will be closed during construction but they plan on having the project completed by the end of 2013.
