Express lube and carwash closes after 16 years
Owner Patricia Wirth said the decision came after years of clientele decline. Wirth attributed the climb in gas prices paired with the closing of a local Border’s book store to the decline.
“We hit a threshold where if we were going to stay in business, we were going to have to make a huge investment in infrastructure and technology. We're talking a $150,000 to $200,000 investment,” Wirth said in the Loudoun Times story. “If I was 50, I may have done that. It just seemed like the timing was right [to close].”
Wirth has not ruled out starting another business, though she did not specify whether it would be in the automotive sector.
