City Council mulls buying carwash site
The Commission’s proposal comes on the heels of an Environmental Protection Agency order to have overflow tanks in critical locations.
OakRidgetoday.com reports the property would cost the city about $100,000. A few council members opposed using public funds to purchase private property for the tank.
The tanks store between one and two million gallons of storm and sewer water and can be emptied within a few days.
