ICE trade show to hit up Las Vegas

International Cleaning Experts (ICE) will hold its inaugural trade show January 30-31, 2014, at South Point Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, according to a press release.

The show will feature the first-ever combination of the auto detailing, carpet cleaning, janitorial products and restoration industries all under one roof, the release stated.

ICE was conceived by cleaning industry manufacturers who saw a need to serve the growing number of cleaning professionals, the release noted.

Prior to this show, the cleaning professional has been forced to travel to multiple shows at a great expense to them and time away from their business during their busy season, the release added.

According to the release, there are numerous reasons to attend ICE, including:

  • Hands-on demonstrations
  • Seminars
  • Workshops
  • Product giveaways
  • Networking with other pros in the industry
  • IICRC credits

NYSCWA tours carwashes in the Finger Lakes region

The New York State Car Wash Association (NYSCWA) toured three carwashes on September 19 in the Finger Lakes region. Participants also enjoyed a buffet dinner at the Sherwood Inn overlooking beautiful Skaneateles Lake, according to President Walt Hartl.

The tour started out at K & S Car Wash which features a 90-foot tunnel, four self-service bays and two in-bay automatics. The 35-year-old site is owned by Mark and Terri Kubarek.

Next on the tour was Auto Wash Inc. in Geneva, NY. The wash features a glass structure that is self-cleaning, and two in-bay automatics. Owned by the Marchenese family, they said they plan on adding a mini-tunnel to the site.

The third and final stop was to the five-year-old Border City Car Wash, which is also in Geneva. Owned by the Fratto family, the carwash features three self-service bays and a friction and frictionless in-bay automatic.

Caricature artist J.P. Crangle was also on hand to sketch attendees, courtesy of the Carwash Insurance Program by McNeil & Co.

Meeting sponsors included Blendco, Innovative Control Systems (ICS) and the Northeast Carwasher magazine.
