Owners of McDonald's buy carwash property

September 30, 2013
LOGANSPORT, IN — Owners of several McDonald’s franchises have bought a carwash property in order to use it as a parking lot.

According to the Pharos Tribune, The Soft Touch Car Wash had been on the market since 2009 but the owners were unwilling to sell it to anyone who wanted to open another carwash at the site.

The property was sold for $60,000.

The owners of the McDonald’s explain that due to the more complex menu at the restaurant, caused in part by McCafe, customers tend to “bottleneck” the drive-thru lanes making the parking lot hard to navigate creating the need for more space.

So far the lot is being used for employee parking to free up space for customers in the lot.
