Two carwashes victims of same crime

NORTH AUGUSTA, AL — A thief, or thieves, made off with $2,200 from the change dispensers at two different carwashes, the Augusta Chronicle reported.

According to the story the metal doors of the carwash were beaten down and the dispenser was pried open. The carwash owner reported that his DVR system was stolen and the monitor damaged. The damage to the carwash is estimated at $4,500 in addition to the $1,200 stolen from the carwash.

The control room door was beaten down in the second incident and $1,000 was taken, according to the report. The damage is estimated at $1,950.
