Calm after the storm means busy day at carwash
WICHITA, Kan. — Saturday was particularly busy for area washes, as owners wanted to get all the chemicals and snow removed from their vehicles, according to the Wichita Eagle.
Joe’s Carwash had 20 extra employees working, 10 part-time and 10 temporary, to handle the rush. The owner of the wash, Duane Steven, said the business had somewhere around 800 vehicles by 1:30 p.m.
“We love when it starts to snow and there’s salt and sand on the road because that gets people’s cars in,” he said. “It’s really bad now that there was snow and ice for so long. The cars are even filthier, and that salt is obviously bad for the cars.”
Steven added that the wash business should continue to see increased sales for nearly a week.
