New job website launches
DAREBIN, Australia — A new job website is hoping to connect employers with employees, and make the job search easier, according to the Herald Sun.
The website, darebinjobslink.com.au, allows employers to advertise vacant positions for no cost, and potential employees can use the site to search for jobs in the Darebin area, or anywhere in Australia.
Mayor Gaetano Greco thinks the website will improve the employee/employer job search experience. “It’s a great way to support our local business. The council can play a key role in increasing the economic viability of the city.”
Alphington Carwash and Café was one of the first companies to sign up. Mark Spunner, the owner of Alphington said “It’s better to employ local people because when they drive from the other side of Melbourne they’re most likely to get stuck in traffic and turn up late.”
Spunner took over ownership of the Out Carwash and Café last year, and found it difficult to find quality employees. He’s hoping the website will help.
