Eliminate swirl marks

April 9, 2014
Often a result of a careless detail job, swirl marks require special attention to be cleared from a car's surface. In order to eliminate swirl marks on a vehicle's finish:
  • Wash the vehicle thoroughly in order to ensure the surfaces are dust and dirt free;
  • Use a buffing pad that is made of a soft, foam sponge polishing pad (not wool) to prevent further swirl marks;
  • Buff at a speed of 1500-1800 rpm's to generate some heat; and finally
  • Inspect the vehicle under bright light to make sure that you have fixed the issue. If the marks have vanished, proceed to waxing the newly polished areas.
