Controversial carwash has police presence over the weekend
DALLAS — Jim’s Car Wash is normally busy on Sunday afternoons, but not last week, when it had a number of cops at the location, according to the Dallas Observer.
Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings has been involved in a protracted fight with the owners of the wash, Freddy and Dale Davenport. The dispute centers on a belief by some that the business is not completely legitimate, while the Davenports claim to be oppressed by city officials.

According to the article, the carwash was greatly restricted from business last week, with plastic barricades around it. “A squad of four uniformed officers was across the street with two patrol cars, a police pickup and a trailer full of police dogs,” continued the story.
The wash had few customers, according to the article, because of the police presence.
