Carwasher joins water clean-up effort
CHICO, CA — Russ’ Auto Detailing has become the first carwash/detail business to join the city’s Clean Water Business Partners program, which is designed to protect local waterways from pollution, according to The Chico Enterprise-Record.
The May 31 story said owner Gerald Russ Schimdt installed a $30,000 water treatment and reclaim system after becoming more aware of increasing environmental regulations. The business also has an enclosed bay for carwashing that feeds wastewater into a drain and pipeline that leads to a water tank.
"It's not a requirement, but it's the right thing to do," Schmidt told the newspaper.
