Cops make two dangerous discoveries at OH carwash

January 19, 2012

RITTMAN, OH — Police, who were responding to a call about a man sitting in a vehicle at a carwash here, found two dangerous items: A semi-automatic gun in the man’s passenger seat and a makeshift meth lab in his trunk, The Daily-Record said.

The Jan. 18 story said the call came in around 11:20 a.m., and Sgt. Robert Shows was the one who went to the carwash and found Michael A. Lee asleep inside his vehicle. Chief Mike Burg then came to the carwash to assist. A glass cooking dish containing a white residue was also discovered.

The Medway Drug Enforcement Agency was then called in to assist.

“It was a genuine safety hazard,” Shows said in the story. “Everything used to make methamphetamines is either toxic, explosive, flammable, corrosive or carcinogenic.”
