SALT LAKE CITY
In the March issue of Professional Carwashing & Detailing it was incorrectly reported that Mister now has 74 locations when in fact the chain now has 78 locations thanks to a recent acquisition.
The chain acquired the Firehouse Car Washes, all of which are in Salt Lake City.
Ron Peterson, CEO of Mister Car Wash, stated in a press release, "We're extremely excited about continuing the work that Dow Jones and the whole Firehouse team has done in the Salt Lake community. We plan on leveraging all synergies to the benefit of the customer."
Mister is only behind Wash Depot by six locations. Wash Depot currently has the most locations in the United States with a total of 84 tunnel washes.
Peterson also stated in the press release, "Expanding into new markets is a central piece of our growth strategy, and we're continuously seeking additional multi-unit conveyor carwash opportunities to help fuel our growth."
MADISON TOWNSHIP, MI
The owner and the foreman of an asphalt business have jumped into the carwash and detailing market together. Beecher Street Car Wash and Detailing held a grand opening in February to mark its new ownership and new name.
Owners Rocky Wingfield and Jason Seymour have brought on six employees.
It offers detailing services and carwashes. Specials at the business include a half-off discount on Saturdays and a $5 basic wash on Fridays. "Our goal is to give people a great carwash at a great price," Wingfield stated to the press.
PONTOON BEACH, IL
A sixth Rain Tunnel Express Car Wash has opened here making it the third location in Illinois.
The first location opened in Granite City, IL. The other three are in the St. Louis, MO area.
President and Owner Scott Knight stated to the press, "Illinois is where we started and our locations there have consistently done very well over the years. We expect this new facility to be a great addition and look forward to offering our high-quality, high-value services to yet another great community in the Metro Area."
The chain now employs more than 60 workers in both Missouri and Illinois.
When asked for the secret to their success, Knight said, "It's really very simple… if you have a car, three minutes and five dollars, then any Rain Tunnel Express location will give you a high quality wash that will keep you coming back. Quality, safety, value, convenience and fantastic customer service — this is what keeps our customers coming back and allows us to offer a great place to work for dozens of area employees."
A combination carwash, gas station and c-store will begin construction here this spring. The new Royal Farms location will be built on a leased parking lot parcel in front of a closed grocery store.
Onley's zoning official said in the story that approval from the town was given in November of last year, but a county building and zoning employee said paperwork was still required before the project can move forward.
A meeting with the principals to discuss highway department matters related to the project was scheduled for the future.
The Green Hill Car Wash is now open for business here. The carwash features "innovative technologies" and is environmentally friendly.
According to the carwash's website, the business's motto is "Clean Your Car. Green Your Planet."
The website also stated that the carwash uses a water recycling system and was built with the help of environmental consultants and the State of Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control. Recycled building materials and recycled finished products were also used when possible and solar panels were also installed.
The first of five Zips Car Washes planned for San Antonio is now open for business. The other four will open in phases over the next several weeks.
Zips Car Wash President Jon Gray stated to the press, "Our carwash is convenient, quick and priced right. Our goal is to bring more efficient and better service to the residents of San Antonio and with our four additional carwashes opening in late March, we feel we'll be able to better serve residents throughout San Antonio."
Zips, which is based out of Jonesboro, AR, has locations in five different states.
A new Mobil 1 Lube Express and All Seasons Car Wash opened here on March 1. The new business was a "substantial construction project." It's located across from a Wawa.
The facility is still in the process of hiring employees. Roxborough is considered a neighborhood located within the city of Philadelphia. The new car care center is located between the Roxborough Animal Hospital and a Salvation Army.
