Bradenton, FL

Royal Palm Car Wash held a grand opening on April 22 featuring $3 washes and free food and drinks. This is the second Royal Palm location in the state as another is located in Palmetto.

The grand opening also featured a raffle in which a year’s supply of free washes was given away.

Istanbul, Turkey

Detail Plus recently opened their first detail center and semi-automatic hand carwash here. The “ultra-modern” center is owned by Volkan Solmaz, and it is named Duru Clean.

The center features a 50-foot long semi-automatic hand wash along with four Chemspence equipped detail bays.

Detail Plus owner Bud Abraham said the most exciting thing about the opening was knowing that their company had fulfilled an entrepreneur’s dream to own his own business. “He has one of the nicest and most professional hand carwashes and detail centers in the city. He can vacuum, wash and dry a car in less than 15 minutes. The typical hand wash in Turkey today takes from one to two hours, depending on how busy they are,” Abraham said.

Silver City, MN

A detail shop here held a ribbon cutting ceremony with members of the Silver City Grant County Chamber of Commerce on hand.

Greg’s Green Detail Plus provides a range of auto reconditioning services including waterless and water conserving auto detailing at any location as well as paintless dent removal for non-collision dents, windshield rock chip repair and clear coat headlight restoration.

Lafayette, LA

The new $3 million conveyor carwash, Classic Auto Spa, is capable of washing 180 cars an hour through its 160-foot tunnel from Tommy Car Wash Systems that is made of windows to offset any feelings of claustrophobia. It also has outdoor and indoor waiting areas and a separate detailing area.

A 750-gallon tank collects and treats a lot of the water used. Veverica said, “We can’t reclaim all of the water, as it would be cost prohibitive, and in Louisiana, it’s not an issue like it is in other states that get far less rainfall.” and Signage enhancements were also implemented.

Boise, ID

A boat wash has opened here and is the first of its kind in the United States. The wash works similar to a conveyor carwash.

The washing system was designed to blast away an invasive species of mussels which is damaging waterways, irrigation systems and the hydro power system.

Teneal Jensen, of the Bureau of Reclamation, said, “With this system we have it takes about five minutes for the whole truck and trailer to go across the entire system. It accurately gets all of the aquatic invasives as they go across.”

Stamford, CT

An environmentally-friendly carwash here uses solar panels to generate all of its electricity and energy.

The Greenwich Avenue Solar Car Wash is also able to use warm water in the wash because the water is heated using solar thermal power.

Gregg Mercede, the carwash’s owner, said the carwash reuses water that is sent through a seven-setting filter system.

The carwash also uses all organic chemicals and LED lighting, which uses 60 percent less energy than regular light bulbs.

Galesburg, IL

A new detailing shop here is bringing business back to a service station that sat empty for 15 years. The building was gutted, new dry wall was put up and vaulted ceilings are now in place.

The shop, Galesburg Car Care, is a division of the Galesburg Nissan auto dealership, and it was described as a “high-end detail shop” and “light mechanical shop” by Jeff Klinck, president of the dealership.
