Eric Hansen and Chris Coffin opened Nautical Wheelers Boat Care this June after growing up with a love of the water and boats and working together at a boat dealership.
“We specialize in making anyone's boat turn-key ready, so our clients can arrive at their boat ready to spend time enjoying the water and not be inconvenienced by the sometimes time-consuming maintenance a boat can require,” Hansen explained.
Nautical Wheelers does everything from boat washings to interior and exterior detailings to buffing and waxings.
Faith Auto Detailing, owned by Barney Willis, is now open for business here.
The shop, open six days a week, offers full-detailing services under one set price and employs a staff of two.
Willis previously was an owner and operator of another detail shop in Hagerstown, MD.
The newly opened AutoSpa Carwash is being billed as one of the largest full-serve carwashes on the East Coast, according to its owners.
The family-owned and operated facility offers express services as well as full detail packages and features state-of-the-art equipment that is environmentally friendly.
Co-Owner Ramzy Sayegh said the carwash recycles 85-95 percent of its water and uses biodegradable soaps.
Station Auto Wash has opened a temporary facility on the grounds of a Suzuki dealership after a fire damaged its original site.
The temporary location is hand wash only and due to the intensive nature of the process, the wash has reduced its volume significantly.
Ryan Magazzine, president of Station Auto Wash, said the facility used to wash up to 100 cars per hour, but now only produces a few clean cars per hour.
Although the volumes are off, the temporary site will allow management and staff to “get back in the groove before the reopening,” Magazzine said.
There is no scheduled date for reopening of the carwash, which suffered millions of dollars of damage following a May fire.
Joe Ruiz has opened a new mobile detailing business here and also will detail cars out of his home.
Ruiz said Classic Details started slow, but he intends to build a clientele base.
“I want to stay consistent with this business. I want the customers to be happy with my work,” he explained.
Ruiz also details pick-up trucks, tractors, boats, motorcycles, semis or “anything with wheels,” he said.
Speedy Car Wash celebrated its grand opening with free washes, Coca-Colas and hot dogs this September.
In addition to its carwash, the business also has a quick lube facility. “Not only can a vehicle owner get a great carwash at this location, they can also receive full service maintenance at a reasonable price,” said Walter Brewer, who operates the fast lube.
The express exterior carwash features a Purclean spot-free rinse, as well as free vacuum services with a carwash purchase. Prices range between $5 and $14.
Greenhouse Car Wash is open for business and is doing its part to help and preserve the environment.
The wash, owned by Mark Marzeotti, recycles 90 percent of the water used, only uses biodegradable soaps and waxes, and also offers gift cards made from recycled materials.
“Every new endeavor we think of to add to the carwash is thought of on greener, eco-friendly terms,” Marzeotti explained.
Marzeotti, who thinks the new wash will attract eco-friendly customers, said he is also looking at installing solar panels, but the cost might be too high.
“It is a significant cash outlay to purchase the panels and to install the panels, but if I qualified for a state and federal grant, I could dissipate almost 70 percent of the expense, leaving me with 30 percent debt service,” Marzeotti said.
The citizens of Wichita are getting their second Shamrock Car Wash as soon as the new business is finished at the site of the old L&M Schwinn, which opened in 1969 and is now the site of the L&M Cycling and Fitness.
The self-serve business will consist of three bays. Shawn Penner of Shamrock Development said, “It should be a real good location for us. Traffic is great. Access is great.”
BG’s Car Wash not only got a new owner, but got a makeover as well.
New owner Won Yu, who purchased the carwash in April, repainted the wash’s interior and exterior, redid the lobby and bathrooms and upgraded the carwash equipment.
Yu also said he also plans to make the carwash more eco-friendly.
