Friends since grade school, Sylvester Chisom and Arthur Shivers, have opened their first detailing shop, Showroom Shine Express Detailing.
With two vans and a staff of 10, Chisom and Shivers are working to expand their business and explore different industry ventures.
“We want Showroom Shine to become a household name,” Shivers said, adding, “maybe we can open a Showroom Shine self-service carwash. When people think of hamburgers, they think of McDonald’s. We want people to think of us when they think of carwashes.”
Coastal Auto Spa Carwash and Oil Lube is now open for business.
Owners Michele Barnes, Steven and Beverly Williams and Daro Ward held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the wash’s grand opening.
The business is open seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The newest member of the In & Out Car Wash express exterior carwash chain is estimated to cost $750,000 and should be completed this month.
The 4,670-sq.-ft. carwash is being developed by Fast Lane Car Wash & Lube LLC, a project of Greg Byler and Ron Barks.
The pair built their first In & Out Car Wash in Joplin, MO in April 2005. This latest project is the second of five planned locations for southwest Missouri.
The carwashes are fully automated tunnels, about 120 feet long, with three automated tellers and a few employees on site to help customers. Prices range from $3 to $12 with free use of vacuums.
Byler is a 20-year veteran of the fast lube and carwash industries. He has contributed many articles to Professional Carwashing & Detailing magazine.
Classic Autopark has opened here in a real sweet spot: the car dealership and carwash is in full view of Interstate 30 and U.S. Highway 59.
While the dealership was opened in June, the full-service carwash was not officially ready for business until this month.
The carwash also does detail work and has a few bays of quick lube service.
