Rolling with the punches
I don’t think I’m the only one having some trouble putting 2008 behind me. It’s hard to imagine we get to start over this New Year’s when the economic woes of last year are so intent on following us into 2009. Still, it is important to realize that even if we don’t get a completely clean slate, we know there is a fresh opportunity to try harder and improve our businesses in the new year. Kind of like my commitment to go to the gym…and to stop ordering from fast food restaurants…and to eat more vegetables…
I’m guessing many of you, just like the staff of Professional Carwashing & Detailing, are taking a hard look at your businesses. You’re closely examining not just costs — but also the type of service and value you offer to your customers.
For our part, we’re making some minor tweaks to our layout and also offering new sections to better meet the needs of our readers. We started at the tail–end of last year, launching a new Travel Blog on www.carwash.com that shares our experiences as we travel around the country meeting with carwash operators and discussing best practices.
This month, we’re introducing a slightly adjusted layout that features a tighter Table of Contents page to give us more room for what matter’s most — the articles — and we’ve also moved the popular What’s In Your Wash section to the last page of the magazine to take better advantage of the space we have.
This issue also introduces a new section to PC&D: The Distributor Locator. This new listings guide, found on page 64, is a convenient way to locate distributors nearest you that specialize in everything from air fresheners to complete carwash systems. The companies, broken down by region, have their products, brands, brief description and contact information included for your reference.
Professional Carwashing & Detailing looks forward to being a partner in your success as you fine tune your business in 2009 and take advantage of the opportunities presented to you. After all — a challenge is only an opportunity in disguise!
