Stolen grates lead to a stranded customer
MYRTLE BEACH, SC — A customer’s car ended up stuck in a drain after five grates were stolen from a carwash here, Myrtle Beach Online reported.
The March 13 story stated that police were called to the carwash when a woman drove her vehicle into the drain, and her car ended up having to be removed using a tow truck.
The 69-year-old woman told police she drove into the drain because she didn’t realize the grates were missing from the carwash.
In all, five water grates were stolen, and a lock on a storage room door was also damaged. Even so, nothing was missing from inside of the room.
No damage was done to the car, and $350 in damage was reported to the storage room door.
