Reward offered for stolen sign

November 03, 2011

MILFORD, MI — The owner of the Sparkle D carwash here had his sign stolen and said it was probably the act of a kid trying to be funny, an Observer & Eccentric story said.

The Nov. 3 story said the owner is offering a $100 reward for its return, but said he will pay it only after the thief is arrested, prosecuted and convicted.

The owner also said that about $300 worth of metal grates were stolen from his carwash sometime between Oct. 12 and 13, but said he doesn’t think the incidents are related. “I think vagrants took the grates to sell for 10 cents a pound,” he said in the story. “A kid probably took the sign to be funny, and it’s probably in someone’s basement or garage now.”
