With many changes occurring at Latham, NY-based NTP Media, parent company of the Professional Car Care B2B Trade Group, which publishes Professional Car Care Online and Professional Carwashing & Detailing (PC&D), I thought it best to talk about some positive modifications to the magazine.
It is with tremendous sadness that I share with you that I have submitted my resignation to NTP. By the time this issue is in your hands I will no longer be at the helm of the magazine.
I have enjoyed my time as a member of this industry greatly, and I will miss the many events, people and times that I have had as the editor of this trade group.
But with this sadness comes enormous gain. Chris Reach, former news editor for PC&D and Water Technology magazines, has agreed to take on the role of managing editor for the Professional Car Care B2B Trade Group.
In Chris' two-year tenure at NTP he has developed his industry knowledge in leaps and bounds. He has started many new sections of the magazine and has been an active member in the industry since day one.
Chris' knowledge can only be benefited by his pairing with Lindsey Blanchfield, who will now assume the role of assistant managing editor. I am sure that many of you have spoken with Lindsey at one point or another either at an industry event or when she's tracking down the best sources for stories or writers for the magazine.
Lindsey is a workhorse and in her short nine months at the company she has become a knowledgeable carwash editor, industry figure and without her the magazine would not be in the position it is today.
You may know Lindsey because you've seen her at trade shows tooling around with Sandy Murphy, PC&D's associate publisher and most recognized magazine figure.
Sandy has spent 11 years at NTP and the majority of those years have been working with PC&D. She's a no-nonsense salesperson, is incredibly knowledgeable and an extremely hard worker.
Of course, Sandy would not be where she is today without the help of six-year NTP veteran Pat Harrington.
Pat is PC&D's sales assistant and that title hardly does her justice. She handles many of the magazine's most viewed sections and pulls together the entire Buyer's Guide, a feat that she makes look much easier than it is.
So, even though it is with sorrow that I leave this industry and this fantastic group of workers, I know that the team at the helm of PC&D is the best staff the magazine has ever seen. These are some of the most conversant, intelligent, and able people that I've ever met.
I thank the industry members and NTP for the opportunities presented to me over the past three and a half years. I wish you all the best and know that I leave you in the best and most capable hands.
