VISALIA, CA — A carwash here offers customers shoe shines in their lobby area, according to the Visalia Times-Delta.

The Jan. 2 story profiled Carlos Galvez, 53, who started shining shoes in 2008. Galvez works on the shoes of customers waiting inside the lobby of Town and Country Car Wash.

“I like to talk to the customers,” Galvez said in the story. “A lot of customers from the carwash will come in, and I’ll just talk to them.”

It is rare that a customer comes in just to get their shoes shined, and Galvez admitted that his clientele over the past three years has been inconsistent, the story noted.

Galvez said in the story he has one to four customers per day, and he charges $7 for a standard shoe shine.
