WATERTOWN, NY — A vandalism spree at a combination detail shop and used car lot here caused $9,000 of uninsured damage, the Watertown Daily Times reported.

The Jan. 10 story stated that police first found seven vehicles with 18 slashed tires on the lot of Golden Touch Detailing Center and Parker Enterprises.

Three days later, windows were smashed on seven vehicles, the story noted. The owner, Gerard Derouchie, upped the count to 10 vehicles with broken windows later in the week, saying the windows were shot out.

Derouchie said the vandalism spree has given him added motivation to move his business out of Watertown, according to the story.

There were more than 15 vehicles at the business, but some were saved from vandalism because they were in the garage for servicing, the story stated.
