SAN ANTONIO — An 18-month-old boy was hit by a truck driven by his aunt at a carwash here, according to KSAT.
The March 17 story stated that the boy was in front of the truck, and the boy’s aunt accidentally hit the accelerator instead of hitting the brake.
San Antonio Police said the boy was seriously injured and was taken to the hospital where he is listed in critical condition.
Leroy Vasquez was at the wash, and he said he heard a crash and then saw a woman screaming hysterically and carrying a baby. Vasquez tried to help, but the baby was not crying and not responsive.
“It’s a bad, bad accident,” Vasquez said in the story. “It’s a little child. You could see the blood on the floor. I thought he was wearing a little cowboy hat and I think they were going to wash the truck and it was just a tragic accident.”
Police said in the story that the incident is under investigation, but it doesn’t look like charges will be filed.
