Basketball legend Earvin “Magic” Johnson was the keynote speaker at the recent Car Wash Show™ and instead of speaking from the stage, he walked through the theater to commune with the crowd and answer questions.
Taking place in the Venetian Theatre outside the Sands Expo and Convention Center, the theater was packed, and filled with applause as Magic talked about his time on the court, his rivalry with former Celtic Larry Bird, and his own experiences in running a business (Magic has owned Starbucks stores, movie theaters, Burger Kings, and T.G.I. Fridays restaurants). Two audience members were brave enough to ask Magic to enter into the carwash business. That's not a bad idea, he said to both. Praising the work of carwash owners and operators, Magic noted that running a business can be hard work, but it's a lot easier with a good team of people and an admiration for the competition.
No word yet on whether Magic was serious about owning a carwash, but you can be sure we'll be the first to report on it if it's true.
