ANCHORAGE, AK — Twenty-six police officers and detectives swarmed the Mountain View Car Wash here on Halloween after being told a child had been kidnapped, the Anchorage Daily News reported.

The Nov. 1 story said police had gotten a call from a witness claiming a man was running after a young girl and shouting at her. Police and detectives arrived at the carwash, looking for the suspect and young girl, and even made a plea to the public for help.

However, it turns out the man was the father of the young girl…and they were chasing after her school bus.

Surveillance footage showed the two running down the street, but it also showed the young girl safely getting onto a school bus.
