ALBUQUERQUE, NM — A carwash owner here, who doesn't want to be identified, said his adrenaline kicked in when he decided to chase down a criminal who had shot at a police officer here, a KOB 4 story said.
The Oct. 31 story said the shooting took place across the street. The man who shot the officer then walked over to the carwash and went up to a customer and told him to call the police and said he would be "waiting for them."
"Seeing an individual like a police officer get shot like we noticed. I mean poor guy got shot and he was hurt. I wanted to do all I can to go there and help him," the carwash owner stated in the story.
The criminal then went and got in the police officer's car and took off. That's when the carwash owner decided to chase him down, using his 2003 C5, souped-up Corvette.
He called police during the pursuit, who told him to not pursue the criminal, but he refused.
"…I'm not going to allow an individual like that to get away and have those individuals suffer for the rest of their lives," he said in the story.
