FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — According to www.local10.com, Majestic Car Wash still doesn’t have power after Hurricane Irma.
Owner Ryan Cain said that he hasn’t had power at the carwash for nine days, but it appears that his neighboring businesses do, the article continued.
“FPL [Florida Power & Light] keeps dragging us along day, by day, by day. It’s going to be Sunday, then Monday, Tuesday — here we are Wednesday and no answers, no truck,” Cain commented.
According to the article, Cain was hesitant to complain about the power problems to the news, but he’s felt bad for his employees because he’s had to stay closed.
“Look, I get it. There is a lot of heartache out there,” Cain added. “It may be one house. It may be five houses, but it is 16 employees.”
In addition, Cain is losing a great deal of business, especially to competition, and he claimed that the lack of power is costing him between $30,000 to $40,000 per week, the article noted.
“Here is a customer right now,” Cain said, pointing to a truck pulling up to the carwash. “It happens all day. It is killing me.”
For the moment, Cain said he hopes to install a generator and will continue to call for linemen to restore power to the business, the article concluded.
