PALO CEDRO, Calif. — Kumar & Sons Inc. of Redding has requested a change to its permit to allow the construction of a drive-thru carwash on its Chevron property, according to Eastvalleytimes.com.
The project would include adding a six-foot high concrete block wall to as a buffer for the nearby residential area, noted the article. The wash will also reclaim up to 90 percent of wastewater.
If approved the new wash will operate during the station’s existing hours from 5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., shared the article. An initial study found the largest impacts from the development would be noise and lighting.

Associate Planner Lio Salazar said in the article the dryer will be outfitted with a quiet kit to reduce noise. Lighting will also be designed to have minimal impact on nearby residents.
Public review for the project will end on June 2, reported the article.
