City approves new CA carwash

TRACY, CA ― There were concerns at first that it would affect the traffic flow from the nearby fire station.

TRACY, CA ― City officials here approved the construction of the Prime Shine Express Car Wash, which will be adjacent to a fire station, a Tracy Press story said.

The Jan. 3 story said the city had to make sure the carwash would not negatively impact the traffic flow and hurt affect the fire station. However, the city's economic developer Amie Mendes said the carwash will have enough parking spaces (20) for cars waiting to go through the tunnel.

“It was good from the get-go to make sure the layout wasn’t going to impede on their access,” she said. “They’ve been more than willing to work with us and help us,” Mendes said in the story.

The carwash's building permit was approved in October and carwash owner Evan Porges met with city officials to go over any concerns.

“We all met at the site when they first started designing it,” City Senior Planner Vicki Lombardo said. “They cooperated with the city. They did a good job working with us.”

Council considers two carwashes during meeting

The Prime Shine Car Wash chain is based out of Modesto, CA, and recently made it onto the Professional Carwashing & Detailing Top 50 list.
