GRAVOIS MILLS, MO. — After six years, the former Hop and Go convenience store has sold and will reopen this month under a new name, The Cup Tree OSS, according to lakeexpo.com.
Roger Forck, the new owner, explains in the release that “OSS” stands for “Oh Shucks Stop!”
“You know, when people drive in from Kansas City and they get all the way out to Cup Tree Road and they are 20 miles from the nearest town, [they] remember, ‘Oh shucks, I forgot to get milk,'” said Forck in the release. “I want them to think of me. I am going to do everything I can to have whatever they need.”
The 2,450-square-foot business has been closed since the economic downturn in 2009, reported the release, and includes an office, a full kitchen, a breakfast and lunch counter, a beverage bar, a large check-out counter and a place for indoor dining.
Forck is currently in negotiations with a barbeque chef to offer barbeque lunches and dinners “with all the fixings,” continued the release, and plans to stock the c-store with extra convenient items that people may need on the go, such as bread, eggs, beer, milk, soda, ice and more.
The Cup Tree OSS will be open seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., during the summer, noted the release.
