Crew Carwash announces higher wages and expansion plans

INDIANAPOLIS — In the coming weeks, the carwash plans to hire 100 new full- and part-time employees.

INDIANAPOLIS — Formerly known as Mike’s Carwash located in Central Indiana, Crew Carwash is celebrating its upcoming one-year “new name” anniversary with an increase in starting pay for part-time associate positions, plans for expansion and employment opportunities at all levels, which include generous benefits, according to a press release.

In the coming weeks, the carwash plans to hire 100 new full- and part-time employees, stated the release.

The new hires, including part-time high school and college students, will now earn a starting wage of $10 an hour (up from the previous starting wage of $8.35 an hour), reported the release, and Crew Carwash also offers a tuition program for college students, providing up to $2,500 per year.

In addition to staffing existing locations, continued the release, the carwash’s workforce needs also stem from the upcoming launch of a new $4 million Brownsburg Crew Carwash facility, which is scheduled to open in December 2015.

The company also is planning to break ground on three new locations in Central Indiana in 2016, added the release.

Crew Carwash has reported an increase of 22 percent for year-to-date, same-store sales compared to 2014, which was a record-breaking year for the company, noted the release.

“We have had an outstanding year as Crew Carwash,” said Bill Dahm, CEO of Crew Carwash, in the release. “Business has never been better and we are focused on growth. Our customers recognize we are the same carwash they’ve always known with a very dedicated crew completely focused on delivering a clean, fast, friendly experience each visit.”
