DE PERE, Wis. — Cleaning Systems Inc. (CSI) has announced the promotion of Anthony Shifflett to the position of director of key accounts, according to a company press release.

Shifflett lives in Charlottesville, Virginia, with his wife and two children, the release stated, and has been with CSI since 2013 in the role of regional sales manager in the Mid-Atlantic area.

Prior to joining CSI, the release noted, he spent six years in chemical sales with another chemical manufacturer.

Shifflett said, “I am excited and thankful for being chosen to fulfill this position. The continual innovation and advanced technology of CSI, combined with the company culture and strength of our organization, make this an ideal opportunity. I embrace the challenge of a national role and look forward to working with the entire CSI team and key account customers across the country.”

Dave Krause, president and CEO of CSI, said, “Anthony’s expertise in carwash chemistry and strong commitment to customer satisfaction has led to great success in growing CSI-Lustra’s presence throughout the region. He is well respected by carwash operators and throughout the industry as a leading expert in providing value through chemical application and performance. We are excited to be able to move him into a position that will challenge him and allow him to have even greater impact nationally. Crew Carwash joins the fight against hunger

INDIANAPOLIS — Crew Carwash is partnering with Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana for its second annual HUNGERCREW fundraiser, stated a company press release.

On Saturday, Oct. 1st from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., the release noted, Crew Carwash will provide a free FastWax service to any customer who donates a canned food item or cash donation of any kind.

Crew will accept donations at all Indianapolis area locations and its Columbus location throughout the day, the release added.

All funds raised will benefit Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana, a nonprofit organization focused on leading the fight against hunger in Central and Southeast Indiana by collecting, storing and distributing food to those in need, according to the release.

“We are honored to once again partner with Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana,” said Billy Schaming, president and COO of Crew Carwash. “When you learn about the facts of hunger in Indiana, the numbers are astonishing. More than one million Hoosiers are in need of food assistance, and at Crew, we are determined to help raise money and end hunger in our local communities.”

At its inaugural HUNGERCREW event in 2015, Crew raised $22,000 and donated more than 3,000 pounds of canned goods to Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana, the release noted; the donated canned goods translated to a wholesale dollar amount of more than $5,000, and the combined proceeds of the day enabled Gleaners to supply 68,500 meals for Hoosiers in need.

“Gleaners is so grateful for community partners such as Crew Carwash,” said John Elliott, president and CEO of Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana. “For every $1 donated, we are able to provide three meals to our neighbors in need. For every $5 donated, we can provide a backpack filled with nutritious food for a child who might otherwise go hungry over the weekend. Donations, no matter how small, make an immediate impact in our community.”

Nearly 100 Gleaners volunteers will be at Crew locations throughout the day, including 28 members of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department’s recruiting class, the release stated.

Crew and Gleaners are hosting a kick-off event at Crew’s downtown Indianapolis location at 1219 N. Meridian St., Saturday, Oct. 1st at 7 a.m. EDT, the release continued, where Gleaners and Crew executives will address the crowd, and Gleaners volunteers and members of the IMPD’s recruiting class will be on site collecting donations.

In the event of inclement weather, the fundraiser will be moved to Saturday, Oct. 15th, the release added.

Reaching new reclaim heights

There is a lot of variety in the carwash industry. Not only are there different types of washes, but the design, equipment, chemistry, staffing and service can greatly vary from one site to the next. However, there’s one non-negotiable constant in every wash: Water.

Since water — and lots of it — is so essential to this industry, it only makes sense to strive for ways to maximize every single drop. That’s where the reclaim process comes in. Collecting, rehabilitating and reusing as much water as possible is essential to protect the environment, the availability of resources and a carwash’s bottom line. That’s why industry leaders are currently driving innovation to find ways to reclaim even more water than ever.
