RARITAN TOWNSHIP, NJ — A major fire took place here at a carwash and oil change business, and fire crews from four cities were needed to battle the blaze, nj.com reported.
The Sept. 5 story stated that the worst part of the fire at Shammy Shine was located in the bay that housed the automatic wash. Firefighters were still spraying water on the bay section of the business more than an hour after the fire was reported.
Though the street was blocked during the fire, many passing motorists pulled into nearby parking lots to watch fire crews battle the large blaze.
The Shammy Shine location originally opened in 1988, and the oil change services were added in 2001. This location is part of a carwash chain owned by the Stem family.
