HANFORD, CA — A marching band is holding its second annual Car-Wash-A-Thon this weekend to pay off new band uniforms, and Total Image Mobile Detailing is the sponsor, The Sentinel reported.
The Sept. 20 story stated that Total Image will be on-site to provide soap and shammies, and the business will also help train students on how to wash cars quickly and efficiently.
This is the second year Total Image has sponsored the band’s carwash, and Owner Mike Borges said he spends about $700 to sponsor the wash each year.
“I wanted to give back to the community and support these kids trying to make a difference for themselves,” Borges said in article. Total Image is planning to participate in the band’s carwash next year as well.
Band Director Lisa Butts hopes to raise at least $5,000 to help pay for the new band uniforms. The uniforms cost approximately $60,000, and the band must raise at least $5,000 per year for the next 12 years to cover the bill.
