ST. LOUIS — Earth Day is a good day to have a hybrid car if you’re in the St. Louis area, where Rain Tunnel Express is offering all hybrid cars a free wash, according to a press release.
Rain Tunnel uses far less water to wash a vehicle, around 30 gallons, than an at-home washing, which uses upwards of 120 gallons, according to the release.

The wash is a member of the International Carwash Association’s WaterSavers® program, for carwashes that maintain eco-friendly business practices, the release notes.
Scott Knight, the owner of Rain Tunnel, said the wash has participated in helping the environment since it opened. “Environmental friendliness has been a core focus of our business since we started nearly 20 years ago. So, we’re proud to join an organization like WaterSavers, and we’re happy to be participating in their program.”
Earth Day takes place April 22, and hybrid car owners can take their vehicle to any of the six Rain Tunnel locations in Missouri and Illinois.
