MORTON GROVE, IL — As a boy, Benjamin Marin shined shoes at his father’s barber shop in Ecuador for money, now he polishes and shines expensive cars, SkokiePatch reported.
The Oct. 11 story stated that Nature’s Hand Car Wash recently celebrated its seven-year anniversary. Marin revealed that he never really planned to enter the carwash business. “It was just an accident. I wasn’t really looking for a carwash. I was looking for a business or an investment.”

Marin said in the story he learned a lot from working at his father’s business. “Doing customer service is almost like being a psychologist with some customers. Customer service is a lot of listening and matching to what the customer wants. One of the things I learned in Ecuador is that some people will run all over you if you don’t present an image of being smart and strong. People will take advantage of you and anyone can bully you. You have to be smart, strong and confident.”
Though the business frequently works on luxury cars like Lamborghinis, Porsches and Rolls-Royce Phantoms, Marin noted that regular cars were the bread and butter of the business. One frequent customer is Lance Briggs of the Chicago Bears.
