CHICAGO — The Boyd Group Inc. announced that it has acquired a multistore operation in Indiana consisting of six collision repair centers located in the Indianapolis region, according to a press release.
The centers previously operated as Collision Cure Body Werks, stated the release, with the first location established in 2003 in Anderson.
“Over the past few years we have added several locations in northwest Indiana, focusing on serving customers in the Chicago region,” said Tim O’Day, President and chief operating officer of the Boyd Group’s U.S. operations, in the release. “With this acquisition we have established a footprint in the Indianapolis region, vibrant communities with a population of nearly two million.”
The new Gerber Collision & Glass centers, located north of Indianapolis, include the cities of Anderson, Fishers, Kokomo, Marion, Muncie and Westfield, reported the release.
They are in close proximity to Gerber’s two locations in Lafayette, continued the release, which were acquired in January.
“We are pleased to now provide our customers and insurance partners in central Indiana with several locations to serve their collision repair needs,” added O’Day in the release. “We look forward to becoming part of these communities and delivering the professional and friendly service that Gerber is known for.”
According to the press release, the Boyd Group is one of the largest operators of nonfranchised collision repair centers in North America, directly and through subsidiaries, in terms of number of locations and sales.
