ROSEMONT, Ill. — During the Hot Dispensed Beverage Meeting, around 100 attendees discussed statistics about coffee and other c-store products, according to CSPnet.com.
The event, hosted by CSP, led to many discussions about trends in the industry. Hot coffee sales are projected to improve by 2.5 percent from 2012-2015, the specialty coffee market is expected to grow at a 4 percent rate during the same time. Hot chocolate is also expected to see quality growth, at a projected rate of 3 percent.

Conventionally brewed coffee is still by far the most popular hot-dispensed beverage at convenience stores, with 79 percent of those surveyed saying they’ve purchased it in the last 90 days.
The highest profit margins are with items like dispensed beverages, which average over 70 percent profit. The lowest are for prepared foods, like sandwiches and soups, which range from 40 to 60 percent.
