Two men here are renovating a 40-year-old carwash in Simsbury, CT, that has been closed for two years, the SimsburyPatch reported.
How to start a carwash Tip #1: Choose the right name.
The Nov. 1 story said Valley Car Wash originally opened in the late 1960s and Tunji Somma and Ken Gallup bought it and plan to re-open it under the moniker: CT Auto Spa.
“It’s exciting; It’s been a landmark,” Somma said in the story. “It had really good bones… it just needed some some updating.”
How to start a carwash Tip #2: Choose the right equipment.
More modern and efficient equipment, restrooms, an office area will be added. The older wash's 100-foot-tunnel will be retained and modernized and pay stations and an RFID reader will also be added.
The self-serve wash will be taken down, but an in-bay automatic will go up, which will be open 24/7.
