NAZARETH, Pa. – According to an article in Lehigh Valley Live, carwash systems manufacturer, Innovative Control Systems (ICS), plans to build a plant to replace three existing local facilities.
ICS representatives presented sketch plans to Lower Nazareth Township’s board of supervisors last Wednesday, the article noted, for a proposed plant on Hanoverville Rd.
The new plant would replace the current headquarters on Jacobsburg Rd. in Bushkill Township, the article continued, and would be located across the street from the Dutch Springs water park.
The proposal, according to the article, would have a 70,000-square-foot footprint; including the second-floor offices, the total size would be 105,000 square feet.
Company owner Kevin Detrick said there are also plans to expand another 73,000 square feet if needed, the article added.
The company produces control systems, point-of-sale systems and outdoor payment kiosks for carwashes, the article continued, and the new site on Hanoverville Rd. puts the company closer to its test site, the Sparkle Car Wash on Route 248.
Detrick said the company’s 120 employees at the local facilities would be moved to the new site in Lower Nazareth Township, the article noted.
The sketch plan is an initial phase of the project, and development will still need to go through the township’s planning process, the article concluded.
