LAVAL, Quebec — Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. announced it will rebrand the approximately 1,500 Kangaroo Express convenience stores to Circle K, according to CSPnet.com.
Couche-Tard acquired the c-stores from The Pantry Inc. earlier this year, stated the article.
During the company’s fiscal first-quarter 2016 earnings call on Sept. 1, reported the article, Couche-Tard President and CEO Brian Hannasch confirmed the move.
“We’ve made no brand harmonization efforts to date, but we have made the decision: We will be using the Circle K brand in the U.S. going forward as our convenience-store brand,” said Hannasch in the article.
Hannasch reported that the rebranding will begin in January 2016 and will span across the following six to nine months, informed the article.
“We’re very excited about the opportunity to combine the two networks in the Southeast,” stated Hannasch in the article. “We’re very pleased with the integration of The Pantry. It’s a huge change effort on a lot of fronts, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results the team is delivering.”
Couche-Tard’s network, as of July 19, 2015, includes 7,987 c-stores throughout North America, noted the article, which consists of 6,556 stores offering fuel.
