CAMBRIDGE, Ohio —The owners of Frogtown Laundromat and the adjacent carwash expect to save big on their electric bills after installing solar panels on their business, according to the article.
Owner John Kistler said, “It’s a capital investment but I figure it’ll pay off.”
The article says the Kistlers wanted to stay competitive by installing the solar panels, and they do not plan to increase prices.
“This is a ‘hard dollar town’ and I don’t want to raise rates,” said John Kistler in the story.
The panels will help the couple save 60 percent on electricity. Inverters will convert the DC voltage to AC voltage.
The Kistlers hope for their carwash and Laundromat to be completely solar within a couple of years, noted the article.
The couple also gets water from their own well, and they use the well as a source for natural gas as well.
Equipment at the laundromat is replaced every few years with new washers and dryers, and Wi-Fi service is offered. The couple has been in business for more than 30 years, stated the article.
