ELLSWORTH, Wis. — Brian Carpenter, along with his son Joah and other family members, recently launched a new car care business offering paintless dent removal, according to Pierce County Herald.
Carpenter started out offering mobile services, the article stated, and recently brought his business indoors with the name, Dent Free.
The approach at Dent Free avoids sanding and painting, which, according to Carpenter, can be a drawback for detailers who fear that the color won’t quite match, reported the article.
Instead, the business uses special prying tools, which are applied underneath the dents to push them out, to restore the vehicle’s original look, the article continued.
Carpenter explained in the article that he will often employ a steamer during the removal process, which helps to kill bacteria from the heat of the machine.
A project may take four to six hours to complete or last up to one or two days depending on the extent of the damage, stated Carpenter in the article.
On the other hand, the article informed, a door ding could take only 15 to 30 minutes.
Dent Free is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays, from 8 a.m. to noon on Fridays and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., noted the article.
