Motion Industries acquires oil company

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Alaskan acquisition expands Motion Industries’ reach in the Northwest.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Motion Industries has finalized the purchase of Oil & Gas Supply on Feb. 2, according to a press release.

Oil & Gas Supply provides industrial and hydraulic fluid power houses, fitting and repair service, and tank truck parts through its two locations in Alaska, noted the release.

The acquisition expands Motion Industries’ reach in the Northwest, stated the release. It will serve the mining, construction and fishing industries in addition to oil and gas.

Tim Breen, Motion Industries’ president and CEO, said in the release, “The addition of Oil & Gas Supply provides an expansion of products, services and value for customers in Alaska, an important area for our company’s 49-state coverage. We are happy to have Oil & Gas Supply as part of the Motion Industries team.” 

Motion Industries is a subsidiary of Genuine Parts Company that distributes industrial parts, reported the release. It has annual sales of $4.5 billion.
