Mobile business is a passion realized for this owner
Wednesday, July 30, 2008

NAPERVILLE, IL — Extreme Auto Spa, a mobile detailing business, is giving the owner, 33-year-old Jason Phillips, a self-proclaimed car freak, a way to realize his passion, according to the Naperville Sun.

The July 27 story quoted Phillips who said, “I got into detailing as soon as I could drive, and detailing became my passion. …I started caring about cars and the way they looked from the time I was a teenager, and I always was getting my parents’ car when I needed it because they knew it would come back clean," Phillips said.

Since 2004, Extreme Auto Spa’s typical clients include businesspeople and business owners with fleets, and will even detail boats.

“When boats are going to be wrapped and put away for the season, people call me and I clean them up at the end of the summer,” Phillips said in the story. “My business also extends into the winter months. I'll need someone's garage to do the work, but there are also car dealers I work with in the Chain-of-Lakes region up north, plus people looking to sell their car that want the interior, exterior and engine cleaned up.”

Phillips works by himself, but will hire a small crew on occasion when a big detailing job is at hand. He shows up for a job with a 75-gallon water tank and the necessary machinery. “I’ve seen the ‘Karate Kid’ movies and know all about ‘wax on, wax off,’ but the buffing and polishing machines I have save me a lot of wear and tear on my shoulders,” he said in the story.
