DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES — In October, municipality inspectors, along with Dubai Police and the Dubai Naturalization and Residency Department, conducted 3,011 inspections and caught 287 people operating illegally as street vendors, beggars and carwashers, a gulfnews.com story said.
The Nov. 14 story said the sweep caught 28 carwashers operating illegally. Ten butchers and fish cleaners, 208 street vendors and 41 beggars were also caught.
Those caught are being held by the Dubai Naturalization and Residency Department for deportation.
The public is also being urged to contact officials with any news of illegal operators.
