NRCC 2017 post-show review - Professional Carwashing & Detailing

NRCC 2017 post-show review

The regional show was filled with entertainment, recognition, learning and networking.

The Northeast Regional Carwash Convention (NRCC), which was held from Oct. 2-4 in Atlantic City, New Jersey, at the Atlantic City Convention Center, provided our industry with yet another venue to connect, learn and network. Each year, the NRCC show is hosted in rotation by one of the five Northeast carwash associations: New York State Car Wash Association (NYSCWA), Connecticut Carwash Association (CCA), Mid-Atlantic Carwash Association, Car Wash Operators of New Jersey (CWONJ) and New England Carwash Association (NECA).

NRCC 2017 was hosted by the CCA with Bob Rossini, its current president, and Michael Benmosche, who is a CCA board member, co-chairing the event.

The NRCC, which is currently governed by 15 members covering officers and board members from each participating association, has significantly grown over the years and now hosts thousands of combined exhibitors and attendees from across the country, and beyond.

The theme of NRCC 2017 was “Reinventing The Wheel.” One addition to this year’s show was the “Inside Look” sessions that were offered on the show floor. These sessions provided attendees with an opportunity to learn from presenters “some of the backroom information in a special setting.”

In addition to an expansive trade show floor packed with equipment and supplies, as well as on-the-floor learning opportunities, attendees also took advantage of the educational sessions prior to show hours and off the show floor.

On Tuesday morning, for example, attendees participated in educational sessions on site selection and design and cybercrime, followed by the Keynote Address with Denise Ryan: Managing Millennials.

During the Keynote Address, Ryan discussed ways to motivate and inspire millennial employees at a carwash. In addition to other important points which were well-received by attendees, she also noted the importance of goal-setting to motivate and engage these employees.

On Tuesday afternoon, the awards luncheon featured the presentation of the 2017 NRCC Most Distinguished Person Award and the 2017 NRCC Hall of Fame Award conducted by Rossini and Benmosche.

“Thank you everyone for attending the 2017 NRCC show,” remarked Rossini at the luncheon prior to the awards presentations. “So far the show has been fantastic; we’ve had sold out seminars … thank you to our participants for attending and thank you to all the moderators for all you have done.”

Be sure to mark your calendar for NRCC 2018, which is scheduled to take place in Atlantic City, New Jersey, at the Atlantic City Convention Center from Sept. 28th to Oct. 2nd.
